In partnership with City of Monash, we have been exploring Litter Locks effectiveness in medium & heavy density communities.
/ Trail involves examining Litter Locks role in reducing what is found storm water drains in suburban streets.
/ After 6 months, the result was a near elimination of rubbish acuminating within these drains
/ The formal results of City of Monash data with be published shortly

Feedback
January 2024
/ City of Monash (CoM) Recycling Feedback Officers conducted door to door surveys of residents in streets where Litter Lock was installed.
/ Feedback was overwhelmingly positive with reports of a notable improvement of the streetscape due to a near elimination of rubbish escape for wheel bins
/ Reports from residents of a greater sense of pride for their nature strips and amenity.
/ Waste collection staff report a reduction the frequency of drivers having to exit their vehicle as part of the collection process.
